Before entering the United Kingdom you will be required to complete an online Passenger Locator Form (PLF). This must be completed upto 48 hours before your scheduled arrival in the UK.
Please be aware, there are a number of websites offering services to complete the form on your behalf for a fee. We strongly advise not to do this, the form takes 5-10 minutes and is self-explanatory.
Completing the Passenger Locator Form
The form can be found on the Gov.uk website and takes around 5-10 minutes to complete. You will need the following information:
- your passport details
- your travel details, including times and dates
- the address where you will stay in the UK (if applicable)
After you complete the form you will receive a QR code via email. You can print this out or show it on your phone as proof of completion.
Do I need to self-isolate if I complete the Passenger Locator Form?
You may also need to self-isolate on your return to the UK. For more information on this, use our ‘Destination Finder‘ to view detailed information on the requirements for your destination and arrival.
There are a number of exemptions with the Passenger Locator Form, these include travelling from:
- the Channel Islands
- the Isle of Man
Your job may also exclude you from requiring to fill out the online form, the exempt professions and roles/duties are listed here along with more in-depth details on your specific requirements.
Why do I need to fill this form out?
The information you give will be used to contact you if someone you travelled with develops coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms.
It may also be used to check that you are self-isolating if you need to.
Your information will be kept for 42 days then deleted, unless it’s needed for related work.
What if I am travelling with other people?
Each adult must complete their own form.
You can include someone under 18 years old who is travelling with you on your form, if you are staying together at the same UK address.
If you’re entering Scotland, they must be under 16.
