The UK Government have confirmed new rules & restrictions around travel for the whole of England as part of a new national lockdown, to begin on Thursday 5th November.
From Thursday, almost all outbound UK travel will be banned until 2nd December under new plans announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Saturday. The new plans are likely to leave thousands of travellers with November getaway plans disappointed.
The new travel rules, which are still being clarified in preparation for a House of Commons vote (on Wednesday), are likely to stop anyone from holidaying in England or abroad. Only essential travel, such as for work, will be permitted.
In what is becoming a reoccuring theme, UK travel companies were once again left angry and frustrated after no consultation of forward warning about the plans.
