The UK Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, last night announced in his weekly update that the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain would be re-added to the UK’s ‘safe travel corridor’ list, meaning that return travellers will no longer need to self-isolate on their return.
The news is most welcomed by the travel industry, with all three of these hubs often used by business and leisure travellers to connect with the rest of the World. Emirates today confirmed that they would be reintroducing their UK to Dubai flights inline with this announcement, which comes into effect from Saturday 14th November at 4am.
At present, all leisure travel from the England and Wales is banned as per current lockdown restrictions, however at present, from 2nd December 2020, it is assumed that travel for leisure purposes will once again be allowed to resume, giving hope to anyone hoping for some winter sun this year in Dubai or beyond.
All arrivals in Dubai from the UK, must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test, if they don’t then they are able to opt for a test at the airport on arrival.
