No restrictions on arrival in Slovakia but a requirement to self-isolate for 14 days on return to the UK.
Masks: Facemasks must be worn outdoors in all built-up areas, such as towns and villages. The wearing of facemasks remains compulsory indoors, including on public transport and in shops.
Social Distancing: 1.5 meters.
Group Meetings: From Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, there will be a general ban on people’s movement outside their home or accommodation.

Travelling to Slovakia
There are travel restrictions in place for travellers from the UK. The Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs website contains an up to date flowchart showing the options, depending on where you are travelling from. Unless you have spent all of the previous 14 days in a country on Slovakia’s list of low risk countries (which does not include the UK) (as listed on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website) you must:
- register in advance of travelling or on arrival, on the Slovak Government’s website and present your completed registration to border officials if asked to do so.
- once registered, the authorities will contact you after at least 5 days to arrange a free RT-PCR test for COVID-19.
- if you arrive in Slovakia by air, you also need to complete the Slovak Government’s Passenger Locator Formand present a printout to border officials.
- you should enter self-isolation immediately after arrival. If you are self-isolating at a private residence, anyone living in the same household must also self-isolate.
- after you receive a negative test result, you may end your self-isolation. Travelling from the UK, you must complete 14 days of self-isolation if you do not receive a negative test result. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine of up to 5,000 euros.
Returning from Slovakia
When you return, you must follow the rules for entering the UK. You:
- need to provide your journey and contact details up to 48 hours before you’re due to arrive in the UK
- are not allowed to leave the place you’re staying for the first 14 days you’re in the UK except in very limited situations (known as ‘self-isolating’)
