Portugal coronavirus and covid-19 restrictions for travel from the uk england wales ireland

Current Status

Portugal is on the UK Green List which means there is no requirement to quarantine on your return to the UK. You must however take a PCR test before travel, before your return and also 2 days after your arrival back in the UK.

Masks: Obligatory use of face masks in enclosed spaces, and outdoors where a social distance of 2m cannot be maintained

Social Distancing: 2 meters.

Restrictions: Portugal has begun relaxing restrictions since March, social distancing and mask wearing remains in place.

Travelling to Portugal from England, Wales, Scotland and NI

Passengers travelling to Portugal will need to show a negative PCR test at the boarding point of the flight. This must have been taken in the previous 72 hours.

You will undergo temperature screening at all Portuguese airports.

  • Provide your journey and contact details by completing a passenger locator form
    (This can be done electronically prior to arriving in Wales and you may be requested to present these details at your point of arrival)
  • Have proof of a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test for all travellers aged 11 or above, taken no more than 72 hours before departure (Pre Departure Test – PDT)
  • Take a coronavirus (COVID-19) test on or before day 2 (Everyone aged 5 and above)
