Montenegro travel restrictions covid-19 coronavirus quarantine

Current Status:

No restrictions on entry for UK residents, requirement to self-isolate for 14 days on return to the UK.

Masks: Wearing facemasks or coverings is mandatory in public spaces indoors and outdoors throughout Montenegro for everyone older than 5 years old, except on beaches and in national parks provided that people maintain social distancing of two metres. 

Social Distancing: 2 meters.

Group Meetings: Attendance at any public gatherings is limited to a maximum of 20 people indoors, or 40 people outdoors.


Montenegro is a Balkan country with rugged mountains, medieval villages and a narrow strip of beaches along its Adriatic coastline. The Bay of Kotor, resembling a fjord, is dotted with coastal churches and fortified towns such as Kotor and Herceg Novi. Durmitor National Park, home to bears and wolves, encompasses limestone peaks, glacial lakes and 1,300m-deep Tara River Canyon.
