France has today moved to tighten restrictions for UK Citizens crossing the border.
All arrivals into France from 2300 GMT on Friday 17th December will be required to provide a negative PCR test result, taken within the previous 24 hours regardless of vaccination status.
Visitors will also need a “compelling reason” to travel, this includes visiting family, but not tourism or non-urgent work reasons.
Once arriving in France, visitors will need to quarantine for 7 days, but can reduce this to 48 hours with a second negative PCR test result.
The latest restrictions will come as a blow to the UK travel industry once again, with December and January being a popular time for ski holidays in France.
